After some 19 years at sea, of which five years were in a command position, Captain Kevin Denning established Denmarine in 1996. The aim was to provide professional marine services to both international and local markets.During his tenure at sea, he served on ships belonging to Safmarine, Unicorn Lines, Department of Environment Affairs, Dawn Diamonds, Ocean Offshore and Ocean Diamond Mining and vessels varying from general cargo, to tankers, container ships, offshore dive support vessels, research ships, polar supply ships and diamond mining vessels.

Since inception, Denmarine has been appointed as representatives for owners or charterers, by salvors, cargo interests or P&I Clubs, covering tasks from marine casualties around the Southern African coastline, to cargo and vessel surveys.

Denmarine has also successfully compiled and implemented the ISM and ISPS systems on numerous vessels and shore-based facilities.

In May 2018 Denmarine obtained a DOC (Document of Compliance), SMC (Safety Management Certificate) and an ISSC (International Ship Security Certificate).

Between May 2018 and December 2021 Denmarine was appointed as vessel manager for a 2063mt DWT general cargo vessel. A second vessel was added to the management in August 2020, a 2115mt DWT landing craft. The management of this vessel was concluded in March 2022 when the vessel was sold.
